A customer of Slesnick Recycling since 1998, Shearer’s foods uses Slesnick Recycling to haul their rubbish to the landfill and transports all recyclable materials back to the plant for processing. Past averages include rubbish and cardboard hauls to be about eight per month, totaling around 53.4 tons per month.

In 2009, Shearer’s Foods came to us in to help them launch a “zero waste” program.  On average, they were paying $2,900.00 per month in disposal costs.  Slesnick Recycling audited the materials they were adding to their trash and determined that almost 50 percent of what was being sent to the landfill could actually be recycled.

In November 2009, Shearer’s Foods launched their new recycling program with Slesnick Recycling; eight months later, Shearer’s Foods had reduced their monthly disposal costs by 65%, resulting in a total savings to date of $15,216.

In an effort to go green, Sandridge chose Slesnick Recycling in 2010 for guidance and implementation in waste reduction.  After an extensive waste audit, it was determined that what was once considered to be trash was actually recyclable.  Seven months into the program, 66.24 tons of what was once thought of as trash was able to be recycled.

The waste reduction implemented by Slesnick Recycling has effectively reduced three monthly trash hauls, resulting in a monthly savings of about $3,800. The offset of hauling charges combined with rebates for higher quality recyclable items is estimated to yield annual savings of over $6,500.
